Some only prefer bottom prices or even free land… unrealistic !
Land in SL has many dazzling varieties. And free land is a utopia.
If you see cheap land it is:
Parcels on Islands: ( hidden) Rent situation, Restricted, Slow,
You don’t own and never have the end controls.
Inland Mainland : Views aren’t protected,
Often ugly buildings, ads, blocked access.
Waterlots : Land can’t be terraformed above waterlevel.
Purchase prices
For something top with all optimize features, protected view, no lag and real ownership,
it’s paid for, also in SL. Also Linden Lab (LL) sells in “Bay City” for L$ 80000 / 1024 sq.m.
LL has created a new quality region, “Nautilus City”: average prices are L$ 60 per sq.m
My prices are between L$ 65000 – 69500 ( L$ 31.74 – 33.94 per sq.m ) for a 2048 sq.m,
depending on location. A discount can be debated should you buy more than one parcel.
After purchase the land is on your name or group name only ( no estate owner ! ).
Monthly Mainland Tier
On mainland you pay monthly tier directly to LL:
- US$ 15 for 2048 sq.m
- US$ 25 for 2x 2048

512 sq.m may however always be added as extra land tier free ( bonus ).
Some of my lands have optional small free zoning parcels for more prims.
Only if your 512 sq.m bonus is used, tier will be scaled up one level higher.
You pay tier to LL by creditcard automatically, or manually by Paypal, or…
You exchange L$ to US$. Via LindenX it will be deposited on your SL US$ account.
LL automatically cashes Tier from an SL US$ account with positive balance.
You can decide yourself how to pay tier, just LL doesn’t accept L$.
